Angel. Whew! That was one heck of an episode. Poor Faith, so severely tested so quickly. I give her kudos to have the moral courage to stand up to Wesley and his gray lines. She’s right not to want to do it his way and he ought be able to see it. His crossing of the line cost him his friends and self-respect but I guess he still doesn’t have that clarity yet. Funny to see Faith coming to the same conclusion that Buffy did at the end of season 5 about being the kind of person who doesn’t cross that line while still getting the job done. Unfortunately, moral courage doesn’t always win the physical battle, plus Faith is out of practice. Gunn and Fred? While I feel sorry for Fred, I can’t help but feel that Gunn was right not to immediately accept her apology, things can never be like they were, nothing is static, you can start fresh, accept your mistakes and they may be able to move on but at this point I doubt it. Angelus was a little better this week, he was a good wall for people to bounce off of. I still think its possible that he’s Angel but it’s the chance is getting slimmer. I enjoyed his smirk and “interesting” when Connor was unable to hit him. (Actually, I enjoyed Gunn’s smirk too). And poor Connor, being sorely misused and mislead by Cordevilia. I really don’t like him but he is a product of his hero’s and both Holtz and the current incarnation of Cordelia aren’t exactly the best influences. The whole Connor being a demon? Hah! Take that you self-righteous bastard. What a cliffhanger! Faith a vampire? Dead? I doubt it if they were still kicking around the idea of Faith spin-off when this ep was written. Damn this has been a great and twisty turny season. I feel breathless as we head in to the final innings of the year. Anyone know when?
