I am so mad and hurt right now I can't even fucking speak or think or barely even write. Last year in July, my bosses reduced me and another worker to part time employees. This really was a blow financially but I kept working there. I am now working another job part time so I can afford to make a living. So, in today’s want ads I find out they are hiring my position FULL TIME! Mother fucking bastards. I can ‘t even believe it. I feel betrayed and supremely pissed off. I find this out on a midnight around 1 am and I can’t even call to vent to anyone but my boyfriend who is very unsympathetic. Not necessarily his fault as he has food poisoning and is feeling cranky and sorry for himself too. I wanted to quit so badly. I considered walking out right then. That would really screw them. Then I thought wait until Monday. Quit then. But it really would only hurt my co-workers, as they would have scramble to fill shifts. The pisser is that I doubt there is a damn thing I can do about it. Really, the situation is so bad that I am trying to get a full time job with a company that pays $2 less an hour just so I can get full time benefits. I am so depressed and pissed off. And kind of weepy. What a fix. I don’t even know who to complain to. It’s probably totally legal. Bastards.

Thought on this weeks Buffy. Oh God. With Never Leave Me the payoff finally came. Oh, I’ve been waiting for Buffy to make that speech to Spike for over a year now. Goddamn right, he’s fucking changed and it’s about time you noticed, bitch. I honestly thought it would never happen. I did not trust Mutant Enemy or Joss Whedon and I was wrong. Wow. I had so many moments, how can I even start?
I miss Jonathon!!!!
But wasn’t poor evil Andrew all cute trying to be a bad ass by dressing like Spike? Poor piggy barely escaped with his life.
Buffy! Yay Buffy! Smart, efficient, practical, and understanding all in one episode! I love this Buffy!
Xander. Not too Xanderish. Are he and Anya picking back up?
Anya. Poor Anya. Rightfully miffed that when Spike starts killing people he isn’t stabbed in the chest like she was. Although I still believe her descent into evil was voluntary and that kind of makes a difference. (Even though I think Buffy should have tried options other than killing her first in Selfless) But wasn’t she a hoot when she was being bad cop? And watching Xander get smacked! Woo hoo. Too eps in a row! That boy deserves some smackin’. He may be better now but he got some payback comin’.
Dawn blah.
Willow was funny when she offered to kill Anya for Spike and scared poor evil Andrew but that was about it. I want Darth Willow!
Principal hottie! Nooooooooooooooooooooooo. He can’t be evil. It’s not fair.
And Giles, I want Giles, where is Giles?
And die watchers die! How cool to blow them up. I like it when ancient supernatural evil uses mundane means such as explosives to achieve their goals. Very progressive of them.
And Spike. Poor poor Spike. Wants to die. Then gets “the speech” of forgiveness and acknowledgement and a reason to live (so to speak). Then freaking gets sacrificed!!!! For some kind of evil mf vampire!!!!!!! The first one? Oh it’s too much! I won’t be able to wait until January! How can they do this to me. It’s just plain wrong!
Boy what a fantastic episode. The best in a season of great ones. Beneath You, Selfless, now Never Leave Me.

Just Shoot Me. Boy, you know this has to be the last season. When you add a new cast member, you know a show is on the down slope. Or to borrow an expression, the show has jumped the shark. It wasn’t unfunny but it no longer has that zing.
The In-Laws. It’s weird, the show can be funny but there is absolutely nothing standout about this show except Jean Smart. I think it’s that there is nothing endearing about any of the other characters. I just don’t really care about their lives.
Frasier. I still love this show. This weeks episode featured Ana Gasteyer formerly of Saturday Night Live. It was a down key episode for the most part with some good moments. I really think it was filler leading up to next week’s episode featuring Niles and his heart condition.
Less than Perfect. I think this is the cutest show. It’s mostly fluff but it has a great ensemble cast and Claud is just so damn perky!
And then there’s Buffy. All I can say nooooooooooooooooooooo, not Jonathan. How could they kill off the cutest nerdiest little guy in the history of BTVS? Superstar will always rank as one of the greatest BTVS episodes ever. It was definitely a great episode. We’ll start with Buffy herself. Her interview with a vampire was great. I was so happy to see her confess that she treated Spike badly. “I was a monster to him” Yes, you were you bitch. Also pleased to see her confess that she feels superior to everyone. I always knew it but I never realized that the writers truly knew that they had been writing her this way. Kudos to ME for fessing up.
Dawn. Go Dawn. Two powerful episodes in a row for our Dawnie. I think though, that the apparition of Joyce was perpetrated by our new big bad (who I suspect is the First from season 3).
Willow. Poor Willow, Tara’s death and her actions as Evil!Willow! last season continue to color everything she does this year. I’m glad they are not letting her off easy but I am also glad that she figured out that the Cassie apparition was evil. An ooh wasn’t that creepy when she imploded?
Spike. Frankly not enough Spike but what an ending. I am hoping that ME doesn’t take the easy way out and just make him evil. I don’t think they will but you never know. I continue to think that he will be redeemed this year, hopefully not by death.
No Xander, no Anya. I’m not what that means.
Funny moments: Vampire Holden telling Buffy that her ex said she was gay and then came out of the closet. The actor who played said ex (Scott) is now on Queer as Folk. Also funny to see them finally figure out nemesis and nemeses.
And finally, a moment of silence for poor Jonathan who just wanted to part of the gang from season one to the moment of his death. At least he died trying to do the right thing.
Sniff. Going to go cry now and see if I have copy of Superstar or Earshot on tape. Poor stupid Andrew. He’s going to burn in hell.

Here’s some thought for the past week in television. Tuesday, Fraiser
was actually pretty damn funny. I was totally amused by Lilith
breaking down during her son’s Bar Mitzvah while reciting the Cat and
the Hat. And nothing could probably top Frasier reciting the blessing
in Klingon. Good show. Buffy was freakin’ hysterical. If you missed
it, I really recommend seeking it out in reruns. It was the funniest
episode I have seen in 2 seasons. Scenes to die for-the four-screen
effect with Willow, Buffy, Dawn, and Anya. Willow trying to turn her
new love into a woman. Buffy and Spike wrestling over the bazooka
(rocket launcher?). Spike and Xander stealing the football player’s
jacket. Over all too funny. Poor Dawn trying to off herself. Anyone
want to be a teenager again? Hell no! I hate grand gestures, unless
of course it’s Spike getting his soul then Yay! I was pleased that
Buffy got him the hell out of the basement. And good for Xander
showing some character development by letting Spike stay with him
despite his Spike issues (Spike gets all the women Xander wants-well
Anya and Buffy mainly). Perhaps there’s hope for everyone after all.
However after such a great ep, I am dreading tomorrows ‘cuz I’m sure
it’ll be totally depressing.
Thursday seemed to be pretty week overall. Friends had some moments
but I really don’t like Freddy Prinze Jr. or Mr. Sara Michelle Gellar,
as he is known in certain circles. Will and Grace was somewhat blah as
well. The best of the sitcoms was as usual Scrubs, but it seemed to be
a little more of a downer than usual. So, I’m waiting for this week’s
eps.
Friday missed Firefly and John Doe.
Sunday Angel was for the most part funny but with a completely
depressing ending. Is this the downer season? Were we in love? Yes
we were. Bummer.

BTVS 7.5 Selfless
What a great episode! I'm glad they finally stopped ignoring the Anya issue. Buffy was hard hard hard. She was so eager to help Willow when she went bad, but not Anya she wasn't worth it. Harrumph. Hey but Willow helped. I liked when she turn momentarily evil and told the girl to stop whimpering. Hee hee. That said, she took a risk in approaching D’Hoffryn. I felt awful for her when Halfrek was destroyed. It was a tough moment and forced us to remember that D’Hoffryn is not a kindly old man he is a demon, in charge! of other demons and is pretty tough. Anya needed to be set on the path of redemption too before she can move on. To Giles! :) Poor Spike. Still crazy in the basement and seeing the nice Buffy that no longer exists. Was the second Buffy real? I’ll admit this was a heart-wrenching episode. I cried for Anya. You know I never cry for the Scoobies just the outsiders. Jenny’s death, Xander leaving Anya at the altar, Tara’s death, Spike, and now Anya. Funny how Willow, Buffy, Xander and dawn never made me cry.

Angel in Vegas
Great great episode. I love Spike but Angel is great on his own show without Buffy. BTW wasn’t the "my girlfriend sent me hell" line on the premiere at hoot. It was a total throw away. Besides, nothing beats a Lorne-centric episode. Evil sexy Wesley too. Take your panties off?!?!?!
Yikes! I also loved the song and dance sequence. Not heavy on character development except for Lilah and Wesley's f!@#$d up relationship and Amnesia!Cordy! However, a great MOTW. Too many criticize both BTVS and ATS for those eps but it worked for X-files and frankly helps newbies (like me for ATS) a lot.

I turned in my column and purposely dissed my editor (who is a musician). I told him I was joking about his poor musicianship but he offered to keep it in. Our resultant email conversation:
Libby:
Maybe I'll get hate mail from rabid Michael Lipton fans
Michael Lipton wrote:

Michael:

I wonder if anyone reads this, I don't really care but I do wonder. A little bit about me. I'm 34, a woman, I work part-time at a domestic violence shelter (I was reduced involuntarily from part time the bastards!). I am also a part time grad student in journalism. My second master's! Hopefully this one will actually get me a job. I also write a montlhy music review column for a monthly independent rag Grafitti called the Capitol City Noize. So I am pretty busy. The column is one of the reasons my BF and I fight. He thinks its a waste of my time, and I should be home hanging out with him. Blah blah blah. He could easily go out too but he thinks going out is just for single people and that I act like a single girl. Frankly I think he acts like an old man. His idea of fun is cuddling on the couch and watching the Tonight Show. Or he likes to go out with "the guys". I hate to keep bitching because I really do love him but I think we're not long together, but who knows, we have been getting along lately. What else? I am obviously a Buffy the Vampire Slayer Fan. I'm new to the game. Having only been watching since FX started rerunning but now I am a devoted geek. I read fanfic, post to lists, and have sexual fantasies about James Marsters as Spike. Oh I am pooped so I'll go see y'all tomorrow. Feel free to say hello.

This week on Buffy the Vampire Slayer:
http://www.cassienewton.com
Neat!
Bad poetry though.
There’s something up with Principal Hottie I know it (heh heh he’s ‘up’)
Buffy: Good empathy for kids, bad counselor etiquette (definitely confidentiality issues)
Poor Dawn upstaged by Willow as info girl, I’m glad she’s humorous instead of whiny this year though.
Xander: poor thing, love poems indeed, Willow is so over you now “honey”
Willow: despite what she said in Once more with feeling, I do think she is kinda butch J
Where’s Anya? I hope they don’t give up on her character, I think she has redemption potential.
I want Giles!
I want Spike! (Oops, that was just a personal aside)
I hope they don’t keep him as the crazy helper guy in the basement.
I think Buffy has been even worse this season so far with him as far as emotional distance. Not only is she (again) using him but also she’s ignoring his obvious emotional pain, after his tremendous sacrifice. It broke my heart to see him hurting himself, I’m glad she stopped him.
I was cheering when he rescued Cassie, even though every punch gave him pain, he persevered.
“She’ll tell you”
sigh

Last week on Buffy the Vampire Slayer:
Willow’s invisible
Anya and Willow are sexy together ; )
(I had naughty thoughts)
Demon Gnarl reminds me of Gollum
And omigod wasn’t that gross!!!!
Skin eating, demon eyeball squishing, I was having the screaming heebie jeebies
I hated them using Spike as a bloodhound
But I loved poseable Dawn
My biggest story complaint was that they feared that Willow was going to be all evil again instantly.
It didn’t even make sense, she went on a rampage because the woman she loved was MURDERED and she no longer gave a shit except for vengeance and let all the stuff that had ever bothered her get to her, not because she enjoyed skinning random strangers. Frankly, I’d be more scared about the fact that she cast some kind of transdimensional spell AND DIDN’T EVEN KNOW IT than anything else.
And not enough Spike.

Eh, maybe I won't break up with him after all. We got into a knock down drag out (actually just alot of yelling) on Monday. I missed class and everything. I don't know what the futue holds but who knows. We made up with going to go see Red Dragon. A pretty good movie too. He doesn't look right to me but Ed Norton did a pretty good job as Will Graham. I thought the rest of the casting was right on. The screenplay was definitely better than Manhunter. I give it 3 1/2 stars out of five.

I am here not doing homework. I decide to leave the ac off and get some fresh air but it is hot as a motherfucker in here. I need to think about how I am going break up with my boyfriend. He has starting insulting me in front of my friends. When another guy tells you that your boyfriend is being an asshole. Then your boyfriend is being an asshole. I guess I will do it at the end of October. Now I need a place to live. Anyone know of any places in Charleston, WV?

Comments on Buffy from my Over30TV:
I actually watched second time and have some comments.
Xander-yes still puffy but a little less so-or maybe it was just the suit-definitely blah.
Willow-Her hair is too red, I mean yes-black hair evil red hair good, but it's just over dyed. Wicca earth magic crap? Got to go-but I did like the thing with the earth having teeth.
Giles in a long leather coat-sexy in that totally self assured way that no other character has ever been on BTVS. Hopefully he'll be on a couple of more eps.
Dawn-I noticed the sweater-maybe she has track marks? Dave said she's is official hottie now. Her and her friends are the new mod squad. A white chick a Goth chick and a Latino dude!
Principal Hottie (as I saw him called on another list) was so nice-I hope he's not evil or demon fodder unless he's a competitor for Buffy against spike in which case demons chomp away!
Colored people on BTVS-it really is an apocalypse! Not since Mr. Trick (who was also cute-but maybe gay-all that talk about Filipino boys you know)
Anya-Ms Soft Serve-turned him French indeed. Bad hair though. What do you think the comment about all her demon friends meant? Halfrek is her only one? Or they were all there in disguise? Do you think it'll be her and Giles? From Grave: ANYA: Giles! Giles! Don't die. Not yet. There are things I want to tell you...
Or Xander-god I hope not he doesn't deserve her. 'Cuz I like Anya and her wacky vengeancy bunny hating ways
And what the hell was going on in Istanbul??
Spike poor sexy Spike. He tried to cut it out. I wanted to cry.
It was cool seeing all the old big bads.
Warren-freaky but he was truly evil-like the old quote about evil being banal (Arendt), Glory-blah, Adam-Blah (but Dave was cheering-he for some reason likes Adam), The mayor-YAY!!! OCD evil, Drusilla-YAY!
The Master-hmmmm, and BUFFY Oh My God! Power huh. It should be to quote Bette Davis-A bumpy ride.

What's going on? The new Buffy episode premiered. Woo I was so excited. Now I need friends who actually watch Buffy to talk about it with. I've started a group at yahoo called Over30TV that I hope will get started. It's going to be a discussion group for over 30 couch potatoes who watch shows that aren't on the Big 3 (or 4 if you count Fox). If you want to join come visit me at Yahoo groups. I need more than one friend to drool over Spike and Giles and the hot new principal with me. Besides she's busy drooling over Willow and Anya too. And my boyfriends busy drooling over Dawn and making fun of Giles and Spike.
