Just Shoot Me. Boy, you know this has to be the last season. When you add a new cast member, you know a show is on the down slope. Or to borrow an expression, the show has jumped the shark. It wasn’t unfunny but it no longer has that zing.
The In-Laws. It’s weird, the show can be funny but there is absolutely nothing standout about this show except Jean Smart. I think it’s that there is nothing endearing about any of the other characters. I just don’t really care about their lives.
Frasier. I still love this show. This weeks episode featured Ana Gasteyer formerly of Saturday Night Live. It was a down key episode for the most part with some good moments. I really think it was filler leading up to next week’s episode featuring Niles and his heart condition.
Less than Perfect. I think this is the cutest show. It’s mostly fluff but it has a great ensemble cast and Claud is just so damn perky!
And then there’s Buffy. All I can say nooooooooooooooooooooo, not Jonathan. How could they kill off the cutest nerdiest little guy in the history of BTVS? Superstar will always rank as one of the greatest BTVS episodes ever. It was definitely a great episode. We’ll start with Buffy herself. Her interview with a vampire was great. I was so happy to see her confess that she treated Spike badly. “I was a monster to him” Yes, you were you bitch. Also pleased to see her confess that she feels superior to everyone. I always knew it but I never realized that the writers truly knew that they had been writing her this way. Kudos to ME for fessing up.
Dawn. Go Dawn. Two powerful episodes in a row for our Dawnie. I think though, that the apparition of Joyce was perpetrated by our new big bad (who I suspect is the First from season 3).
Willow. Poor Willow, Tara’s death and her actions as Evil!Willow! last season continue to color everything she does this year. I’m glad they are not letting her off easy but I am also glad that she figured out that the Cassie apparition was evil. An ooh wasn’t that creepy when she imploded?
Spike. Frankly not enough Spike but what an ending. I am hoping that ME doesn’t take the easy way out and just make him evil. I don’t think they will but you never know. I continue to think that he will be redeemed this year, hopefully not by death.
No Xander, no Anya. I’m not what that means.
Funny moments: Vampire Holden telling Buffy that her ex said she was gay and then came out of the closet. The actor who played said ex (Scott) is now on Queer as Folk. Also funny to see them finally figure out nemesis and nemeses.
And finally, a moment of silence for poor Jonathan who just wanted to part of the gang from season one to the moment of his death. At least he died trying to do the right thing.
Sniff. Going to go cry now and see if I have copy of Superstar or Earshot on tape. Poor stupid Andrew. He’s going to burn in hell.
