You know I meant this for more than just tv reviews but I swear I forget I have a blog sometimes. I wonder if anyone reads this. Am I posting to nothingness? Today, I took my friend Billy to school becasue he totalled his freaking car AGAIN. I swear he drives me crazy! He got caught running a stop sign, hit and run, and leaving the scene. We don't lnow if he will be charged with a DUI yet but if he is it will be third offense, which is a felony. Tsk tsk tsk. After it happened he was really shaken up. He was freaked because he could have killed someone and decided to go on the wagon form coke and booze. Well he's boozing it up again, I wonder how long it will be till he's snorting too. I don't even blame the cocaine, it's the alcohol and his unwillingness to accept that he is intoxicated that does him in. Being jobless and carless has been cutting down on his partying a little bit but I dread when he gets a car again.

New Updates! Tuesday. Well Frasier was a repeat, but Less than Perfect was very cute but the highlight was a new episode of Buffy. The Potentials it was called. While it was not a spectacular ep, there was a whole lot of humor and tear eyed ness going round so overall a solid ep. I’ll do it by character round up.
Giles. I’m still wondering if he’s an agent of the first. We never saw him escape from the Bringers in Bring on the Night he just showed up with slayer wannabees in tow.
Anya. Very practical. Willing to ahem give it up for the cause if you know what I mean. Too bad he didn’t want her as a human. I found her idea that Buffy should have stayed dead interesting. Thinking that this is the last season makes me Ill. Frankly, I don’t want to see Buffy die AGAIN. It’s too much; let her lose her powers, live happily ever after with Spike, principal hottie (if he turns out not to be evil), whatever. Just my god, don’t kill her again. Wait, oops I was talking about Anya. Well I’m still holding out for the Giles/Anya ‘ship. They’re still hanging out and friendly. Both actors want off the show whether or not it goes on for another season so why not have them leave for England together, sigh.
Dawn. Poor Dawn. Fist she was special, the Key, now she’s just a regular girl. So then, she was a slayer in waiting. Then just a regular girl. But why oh why do the writers have her doing stupid things time and time again. Dawn is walking around Sunnydale, at night, alone and unarmed. Did the past three years teach her nothing??!?!!!?!?!
Andrew oh Andrew. I kind of resent that the writers are treating him as comic relief. HE MURDERED JONATHAN! I mean what the hell? They treated Spike, Anya, and even freaking Angel worse than this. Seriously, it’s as if Jonathan wasn’t important enough for them to feel bad about. Well I grieved. I may have even cried. I loved Jonathan. Sniff. Also as a side note, my BF's brother was watching with me and he doesn't watch the show and has never seen Andrew. His first comment when watching him for a few minutes was "God he is so gay!" I snickered. Although I can't help but think about Jodyorjen's future fic Head Games, which I totally want to read. Or is the fic that dare not speak its name?
Principal hottie I mean Wood. What’s his deal? Evil? Good? He’s a mystery, like he likes.
Willow. She rather annoyed me this episode. I thought she was very hard on Dawn. Just because she wants power doesn’t mean everyone else is craving it too.
Spike/Buffy. Woohoo. Total Spuffiness! Their interaction at the beginning was sweet and sexy and even the Slayers in Training noticed. Buffy’s conversation with future SIT Amanda was telling as well about her relationship with Spike. Sigh.
And finally Xander. I take back every mean thing I said. This is the Xander I used to love. Scarily the speech he gave Dawn about being the not so special one was not only heartbreaking but the same damn speech he gives in about 20 million fan fiction pieces I’ve read. Are the writers secretly reading fan fiction on the net? The last little bit lifted this ep into excellence.
Boy this season has been one hell of a ride. I sincerely hope it’s not the last but if it is, please let us have a happy ending.

Boy I tell you, the Dead Zone makes me tear up at least once an
episode. I was really feeling for Walt and Sarah in this episode.
Walt as John Wayne giving it up. It's a lovely representation of who
his character is. And poor poor Sarah. I don't know how she was
holding it together. I would have been personally railing against fate
and wondering if I could bear it again. And boy I just like Reverend
Purdy better and better in every episode. I wish Dana had been
there. Not alot from Bruce this ep but at least he's back. Johnny's
hair looks a little better. Looks like they cleaned it up. I guess
I'm one of the few who really do like all the characters. I wonder
too like many of you whether Walt remembers or not. And will it come
to a head? I'm glad they are fleshing him out more. They've done
this with Purdy, Dana, Sarah and now Walt. I'm waiting for the Bruce
ep!

Hey guys still catching up. Here's last weeks Must
See TV:
Friends: The One Where Rachel Goes Back to Work
Really, Friends seems to be in the beginning of a
downslope. It's still funny but it is no longer
innovative at times. There are still highpoints
though. Phoebe and Joeys interaction was pretty good
and I always like Monica and Chandler. Well okay I
always like Chandler. : ) Dermot Mulroney guest
starred and just wasn't as cute as he usually is. I
don't know what it was. Here's to hoping that Friends
either gets better or calls it quits while it's still
ahead.
Scrubs: My New Old Friend
Pretty good show. Not one of the funniest eps but
good. I really liked the interaction between JD and
Elliot. Elliot runs the risk of being portrayed as
too whiny so writers need to be careful how they
balance the character. Poor JD, it's hard to have
feelings for a friend, especially if they made it
clear that's that's not how they feel about you. Dr.
Cox got a great comeuppance from a patient who called
him on his assholishness (is that a word?). I need
more Jordan episodes though. As usual the janitor was
excellent.
Will and Grace: Field of Queens
For a show that's called WILL and Grace, we don't get
alot of Will-centric episodes so I'm glad for one.
The gay soccer team stuff was a hoot. If we beat the
straight team then we have a shot at the lesbians! I
can't believe the maitre de that Karen was all hot for
was Andy Garcia. He used to be sizzling hot. That's
the second show on NBC that has somehow de-hotted
their male guest stars. Crazy. Will and Grace is in
the same boat as Friends. It still funny but
definitely no longer at its peak.
Good Morning Miami: Jake's Nuts Roasting on an Open
Fire
This is a great new show! The unrequited love that
Jake has for Dylan is revealed to Gavin in this ep.
And boy is Gavin a sneaky bastard. Stealing Jake's
inscription to win Dylan back. Well, Jake backed down
but as far as I'm concerned this leaves the field open
for my Penny to get Jake. Yay. It's a funny soap
opera I guess.
Hey I'm almost caught up. I just have deadzone, John
doe, and buffy to get through. : )

Okey dokey people, here I am catching up.
Last week:
Tuesday 1/7/03
The 70’s Show
“The Girl I Love”
Eric’s mom throws a dinner party for Fez’s new girlfriend. It turns into the battle of the sexes. Not the best ep ever but as usual it has its moments. Plus it was definitely a hoot seeing Hyde in a coat and tie. And bonus points for Jamie Farr.
“Over the Hills and Far Away”
Repeat from 11/19/02 but I’ve never seen it so I’m counting it as new. Cute ep. The kids visit college. Eric freaks out at the idea of Donna going to school away from him. Hyde finds himself turning down drunken college girl sex for Jackie. Eek! He’s being domesticated. Good!
Frasier
“Door Jam”
As usual, it’s not really the plot that amuses on Frasier but the interplay between characters. This week Niles and Frasier go crazy when they find out there is a spa that they “aren’t on the list” for. Once they sneak their way in, they find there’s a higher membership level. Together David Hyde Pierce and Kelsey Grammar are too funny. I love when they get the brother episodes. David Hyde Pierce continues to steal the show.
Less Than Perfect
“Claude’s Got a Secret”
Charlie and Claude struggle to keep their budding relationship secret from everyone. Cute but no bid kudos’ on this one. The high point was Lydia and her mentor being such a crappy mentor.
Wrap up:
This is the first season I’ve really watched The 70’s Show and I’m really having fun with it. Frasier continues it’s excellent ensemble work and Less Than Perfect is having a good if not spectacular first season.
Pokemon is a slave trader; Pikachu is a slave master!

The Dead Zone
Okay so I'm a bit behind on my TV tape watching.
Last year on DZ:
Johnny Smith crashes his car.
Johnny Smith is in a coma for 5 years.
When he comes out his fiancee is married to the sheriff.
His mother has killed herself.
His son is being raised as another man's.
Oh yeah, and he's psychic.
He sleeps with Dana a reporter.
He sleeps with Sarah his ex-fiancee.
And has a vision that political candidate Greg Stillson will cause Armegeddon.
No big.
This week on Valley of Shadows:
Number one Johnny has a terrible haircut. Minor point but it bugged the crap out of me, its the little
things that are distracting. He's very obsessed over the Stillson thing, following him around at
appearances, etc. It's caused him to lose his visions. He's ignoring Sarah and Dana. Even his bud
Bruce is concerned. When a child is kidnapped Johnny has no visions. But the kidnapper is counting on
Johnny to save the boy. The kidnapper Francis is cool. Religious nut but well characterized not overplayed as
a stereotype. Johnny's visions return. With one of little Johnny and Sarah-does it mean something?
Francis tells Johnny that he is daniel and he has a duty to teach the people. Then francis goes out and
does suicide by cop. Ooh mysterious. The DeadZone seems to specialize in likable bad guys. I guess
trying to show the complexity of human existence. (No coincidence considering the writer/producer worked on
all the star trek incarnations as co-creator, writer, and producer). The show's often good
humor was gone, unfortunatately this episode was very grim. I do have to say that Anthony Michael Hall is perfect for
this role. He has really matured as an actor and and I think this show has not only proved it but may be a
true second chance for one of the few brat packers who didn't move on to more adult roles after the heyday.

Well I'm still pissed off but I'm going to let it simmer until I decide what to do about the job thing. Right now I am doing as little as possible at work. So there. I'm also back on the big job hunt. Anyway on to more interesting things, like Firefly. Firefly
I just watched Joss Whedon’s Firefly. (Had it on tape). Fox cancelled the show but allowed Whedon to finally air his 2-hour pilot. Crazy. They make him start the show on the second episode, give it no advertising, cancel it, and THEN allow him to show the pilot. Anyway, it was great. It really laid out the characters histories and how they came to be on the pirate/salvage ship. It’s really a shame cuz I really did start liking the show. But they usually cancel shows I like. I’m hoping that John Doe, Less than Perfect, and Good Morning Miami make the cut this season. Anyway, I heard that Whedon is going to release all Firefly on DVD including unaired finished eps so keep your eyes open. I’ll definitely check it out. The shows I did see were pretty cool. Better than that lame ass Fastlane that’s replacing it.
